Toph's Mac OS X Dvorak Page

This page tells you how to use the Dvorak keyboard layout on Mac OS X.

In May 2001 I started using the Dvorak keyboard layout - info, picture.

When you switch the keyboard layout on a windows PC you go to the keyboard control panel and switch the layout to Dvorak. The specifics vary with each version of windows, but one thing that is common is the need for a dll - which you might already have installed.

When I got Mac OS X I went to the keyboard control panel. I looked everywhere, but I could not find an option to change the layout to Dvorak:

I am ashamed to admit I had to post to an online forum to figure out how to change it. The answer was so simple. Go to the International control panel. It has a Keyboard Menu tab, on which you can turn on "Dvorak" and "Dvorak - Qwerty". Dvorak - Qwerty is a mapping that has Dvorak layout when typing, but Qwerty layout when pressing the Apple key.
